Fireworks to light up the sky over Kent Narrows! Queen Anne's County will host the annual July 4th Celebration.



The public is invited to attend the Independence Day Celebration Information on

July 4, 2024. Here are the details. The event is free.


Where: The Chesapeake Heritage and Visitor Center, The Waterfront Lawn Area 

425 Piney Narrows Road, Chester, MD 21619

When: Thursday, July 4, 2024, with a rain date of Friday, July 5, 2024 

Time:  Parking opens at 5:30 pm, the Event starts at 6:00 pm, and the Fireworks go off at 9:15 p.m. 

Food: Food trucks will be available with food to purchase. 

Entertainment: Live music from Jason Morton & Chesapeake Sons and WCEI will broadcast LIVE! 

Kids: Bounce houses, face painters, photo booth and more *kids activities are free

Parking location: Free parking at the “old outlets” 59 Piney Narrows Road in Chester. Parking opens at 5:30 p.m. *handicap parking is available 

Ferry Point Park will be closed before, during, and after the event. Closure times are as follows: Sunrise July 3rd to Noon on July 5th. (these hours change in the event of rain)

Traffic Information:

Shoulder parking is not permitted on the approaches to and on the Kent Narrows Bridge

The Kent Narrows Rt. 18 Drawbridge Drawbridge Section will be closed from 8 p.m. to the end of the event. Through traffic will be directed to Rt 50. 

Exit 41 (Rt 50 W/B) will close at 9:30 p.m. and reopen once all traffic has cleared.

Multiple traffic control points will be set up by the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office. Some roads will experience single-direction travel following the event.
